Our post has gathered many torn and tattered flags from Irvine residents over the past year. At our March post meeting, we separated the cotton and nylon flags to prepare for the ceremony. In December we moved our meeting location to The Duck Club.   We ended 2018 with 37 members.

In honor of our veterans and in support of their families, the City of Irvine will host a special Veterans Day Ceremony on Sunday, November 11th from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the formal garden area at the Colonel Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park. Jan 5, 2018  Thank you to Rebecca and others from Irvine American Legion Post 838 for setting up last night’s event, as we and my family spent time with military veterans, who will not be able to make it home for Christmas. Merry Christmas to everyone, especially those who are standing the watch to keep us safe.
